Bilingual Education and Global English
Our English programs are designed with the aim of developing fundamental language skills with the ultimate goal of achieving bilingual excellence.
Each student understands the English language to a level where they can read, write, listen and speak both appropriately and fluently in order to thrive in tod
ay's world. To achieve this, we teach various subjects in English including Social Studies, Science and Literature as well as a thorough knowledge
and understanding of the underlying language systems that give life to the English language. (i.e. Discourse, Phonology & Pronunciation, Lexis & Vocabulary
and Grammar) The English program is aligned to and calibrated against the Common European Framework of References for Language Learning, Teaching and Assessment (i.e. CEF
R). That is to say, our Second Language Education curriculum has been devised and developed in a manner consistent with current international standards and
parameters. The above enables Cedros to measure learners' achievements by means of an internationally recognised system of assessment such as the one developed by The
University of Cambridge as part of their external evaluation services for learners of English as a global language.
This makes it possible for Cedros to guarantee the greatest quality control with regard to the sequence of contents and proficiency levels in the CEFR and
so our learners are prepared to sit the following exams as they progress through their education experience: Grade 3: Starters (Level A) Grade 4: Movers (Level A1) Grade 5: Flyers (Level A2) Grade 6: Key English Test (KET: Level B) Grade 8: Preliminary English Test (PET: Level B1) Grade 9: First Certificate in English (FCE: Level B2) Grade 11: Certificate in Advanced English (CAE: Level C1) Grade 12: Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE: Level C2) College: IELTS (Level D1)
